Let's Dance – Celebrating Community & Breaking Barriers

Empowering elderly individuals through dance, expression, and community bonding.

Our Mission: Dance as a Universal Language
"Let’s Dance" is an initiative dedicated to breaking down barriers and amplifying diverse voices through dance and creative expression. In collaboration with Apna Ghar Asian Elderly Day Care, Ghulab Ashram Housing, and new partnerships across Birmingham, the project fosters inclusivity and connection for elderly individuals, particularly within South Asian communities.

Sessions provide cultural dance, simple exercises, and shared storytelling through movement, allowing participants to rediscover joy, rhythm, and a sense of community.

Did You Know?
Dance improves mobility and reduces physical discomfort.
Social dance sessions combat isolation and promote emotional well-being.
Movement-based activities enhance mental sharpness and overall happiness.

Our Solution: Dance for All
Through the success of Let’s Dance 2024, Sampad is expanding the initiative for 2025-26 with the support of Small-Steps Charity (SSC).

SSC’s funding enables us to:
Host 38 dance sessions throughout the year, tailored for sheltered housing and elderly care centers.
Engage highly skilled South Asian dance practitioners specializing in inclusive movement workshops.
Partner with The Big Give and Living Well Consortium to extend resources and accessibility.

How is SSC Involved?
SSC plays an active role in funding, monitoring and evaluating its projects, ensuring that initiatives create lasting change. Evaluations from previous sessions highlighted:
Happier, more connected, and mentally refreshed participants.
Improved mobility and reduced pain, with individuals feeling more comfortable in movement.
Strengthened community ties, particularly among widowed and socially isolated elderly individuals.

Real Stories, Real Change
"Lots of us are widows here, and adding dance to our sessions has brought a real happiness to everyone." — Participant Testimonial

"My body feels less painful, and I finally have a reason to get out of bed." — Participant Testimonial

We Want Your Help!
SSC and Sampad are committed to expanding Let’s Dance further through grants and fundraising efforts. Your support will enable:
More inclusive dance sessions for elderly individuals.
Professional artists and facilitators to lead engaging programs.
Safe spaces and resources that promote health and well-being.

Donate & Support
Together, we can create a lasting impact! Every donation allows us to reach more elderly individuals and continue building a joyful, inclusive community.
