Empowering Dreams: Streeksha Scholarship Program – 2024 Impact Report  

Transforming Lives Through Education  

At Small-Steps Charity (SSC), we believe in the power of education to break barriers and create lasting change. Since 2022, our Streeksha Scholarship Program has expanded from supporting 2 scholars per year to 5, thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters.  

This growth has allowed us to fund higher education, mentorship, and research opportunities for aspiring students, enabling them to build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.

Breaking Barriers for Higher Education  

One of our scholarship recipients from a rural background faced significant financial and societal challenges in pursuing higher education. Thanks to SSC’s Streeksha scholarship, she was able to attend Delhi University and specialize in Chemistry.  

Her journey has been one of academic excellence and innovation, as she developed natural cosmetic products using scientific research and successfully showcased her work at a college festival. Now, she is preparing for competitive postgraduate exams, proving that education truly changes lives.  

From Community Work to National Advocacy  

Another Streeksha scholar has dedicated herself to uplifting her local community by mobilizing adolescents on education and health issues. Her advocacy was recognized at a National Youth Congress, where she represented Bihar on a panel discussing Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4 and 8).  

Her leadership in educational outreach and community awareness shows how scholarship programs extend beyond academics, fostering empowerment and social change.

Thanks to your donations, SSC granted INR 752,002 to Project Streeksha for 2024-2025, supporting tuition fees, research projects, and scholar stipends.

Case Study 1 Breaking Barriers for Higher Education  

Coming from a rural background one of our scholars faced significant financial struggles and societal barriers that threatened her dreams of pursuing higher education The lack of resources combined with limited access to quality academic opportunities made her future uncertain  

Thanks to the Streeksha Scholarship she was able to enrol in Delhi University and specialise in Chemistry a field she was deeply passionate about Through hands on academic exploration she developed natural cosmetic products using scientific techniques later showcasing them at a college festival where her work gained recognition  

Beyond her academic excellence she is now preparing for postgraduate entrance exams aiming to secure admission into a top tier research institute Her story is a testament to how educational support can unlock untapped potential transforming challenges into opportunities for success

A Streeksha scholar’s passion for social change led her to dedicate herself to education and health awareness in her local community Despite financial challenges she remained committed to mobilizing adolescents guiding them on issues such as access to schooling healthcare and career development  

Her leadership was recognized at the National Youth Congress where she was selected to represent Bihar on a panel discussing Sustainable Development Goals SDG 4 and 8 She advocated for quality education and economic growth highlighting how youth participation can drive policy changes that benefit underserved communities
