Assam School Project 2017-2019

Betharram Sacred Heart School, Nargaon, Assam, India

Situated 20 kms from Nargaon village, a 3 hr drive from Guwahati in the remote mountains of the North-East province of Assam, our project was to improve the building and infrastructure of a school. This school provides vital education for the Garo-speaking remote village communities. but had very poor infrastructure . In 2016 the school provided education for 20 local children make-shift facility bamboo-shed building with a leaky tarpaulin temporary roof and had no sanitation facilities or clean water supply. The project is was led by Betharram Mission and recieved funding from Small-Steps Charity. We ensure that our projects are closely monitored and supported and our trustee visited the school site on 29th Dec 2017.

Small-Steps Charity provided funds for:
  1. Permanent school building (Brick and mortar) for 25 children age 3-7, with on-site hostel accomodation
